A huge thank you from London Mavericks to Kira Rothwell, Chelsea Blackman and Amy Hepworth-Wain, who will be departing the club ahead of the 2026 season.

From everyone at the club, we want to extend our deepest thanks for the unforgettable memories, unwavering commitment, and the significant impact each of them has made—playing an instrumental role in helping cement our place in the top four for the first time in nine years.

We are incredibly proud of their contributions, both on and off the court, and wish them nothing but success in the next chapter of their journeys.

Once a Maverick, always a Maverick, these players will remain a valued part of the Mavericks family. We thank them, we celebrate them, and we look forward to seeing what they do next.

Thank You, Kira Rothwell

Legacy number #104, Kira Rothwell, first joined the Mavericks in the 2022 season and has brought energy, precision, and professionalism to the group ever since.

A former U21 international, she has spent three seasons in Maverick colours, making her mark with sharp court awareness, clutch supershot shooting, and the versatility to cover both Goal Attack and Wing Attack.

Over her time with the club, Kira has earned recognition as a 3x 2025 Team of the Week selection and was the 2025 RO2 Soft & Gentle Supershot winner. Her composure under pressure and commitment to the team’s standards have been constant, adding both depth and flair to the Mavericks attack.

As she moves on from the club, we thank Kira for everything she has contributed during her three years at Mavericks and wish her the very best for the future.

Thank You, Chelsea Blackman

Australian defender Chelsea Blackman joined the Mavericks ahead of the 2025 season, bringing with her a wealth of experience that includes four national championships with Adelaide and five Premier League grand finals with Contax Netball Club. A powerful and tenacious GD/WD.

Chelsea played a key role in Mavericks’ early season — standing out in the inaugural Netball Super Cup and the opening rounds of the NSL. Her intensity, discipline, and ability to disrupt opposition play gave the side a defensive edge and lifted the team around her.

Unfortunately, a season-ending injury cut her campaign short, but even from the sidelines, Chelsea remained a huge presence — offering support, energy, and leadership that helped shape the culture and spirit of the squad.

We thank Chelsea for her commitment to the club and wish her all the very best for her next chapter.

Thank You, Amy Hepworth-Wain

Legacy number #120, Amy Hepworth-Wain, etched her name into Mavericks history this season. A 4x NSL Champion, her pedigree and winning mentality were undeniable from the start. Stepping into the side in Round 4 against the Panthers, she made an instant impact as a temporary replacement.

Her experience shone through, lifting the group and raising standards on and off the court. Between Round 4 and Round 13, she delivered a staggering 87 feeds and 10 intercepts. A champion’s presence, a Maverick’s heart — her contribution has been invaluable.

We thank Amy for her commitment to the club and wish her all the very best for her next chapter.
