London Mavericks are delighted to announce the signing of Tongan international Uneeq Palavi ahead of the 2027 season, with the powerful GS/GA joining the squad after rising through Australia’s elite netball pathway.
Born in Melbourne, Palavi is a Tongan Australian with a Samoan mother and Tongan father, and arrives in London following an impressive journey through the Suncorp Super Netball (SSN) competition — the world’s premier domestic netball league.
Palavi made her international debut for Tonga in 2019 before announcing herself on the global stage at the 2023 Netball World Cup. Most recently, she represented Tonga at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, finishing as the third-highest scorer of the tournament with 219 goals across six matches, shooting at an outstanding 92.8% accuracy.
Before making her move into SSN, Palavi enjoyed a hugely successful spell with City West Falcons in the Victorian Netball League (VNL) — one of Australia’s leading state-level competitions and a recognised pathway into elite netball. During her time with the Falcons, she claimed three VNL titles, building a reputation as a powerful and reliable goal scorer with a proven ability to perform on the biggest stages.
Palavi’s progression continued when she made her Suncorp Super Netball debut with the New South Wales Swifts in 2024 as a temporary replacement player. She then joined Melbourne Mavericks as a training partner and temporary replacement player in 2025, before earning a full SSN contract with the club for the 2026 season. Her performances continued to impress, establishing her as one of the competition’s most exciting shooting talents.
Across her two SSN seasons, Palavi made 25 appearances, scoring 182 goals and 60 Super Shots, while also recording 40 general play turnovers to showcase her impact beyond the shooting circle.
Now, Palavi brings her international experience, elite shooting ability and winning mentality to London Mavericks as the club’s newest attacking addition.
With experience across the Netball World Cup, Commonwealth Games, Suncorp Super Netball and three VNL championships, Uneeq Palavi is ready to make her mark in London.
