London Mavericks are delighted to announce the signing of England international Natalie Metcalf ahead of the 2027 Netball Super League season.
Widely regarded as one of the best wing attacks in world netball, Metcalf joins London Mavericks with an exceptional CV built on success at both domestic and international level. With multiple league titles, major international medals and years of elite experience, she adds proven quality and leadership to the Mavericks squad.
Fresh from helping Manchester Thunder lift the 2026 Netball Super League title, Metcalf arrives in the capital after another outstanding campaign. Across 13 appearances during the championship-winning season, she recorded 250 feeds, 102 centre pass receives and nine deflections, once again demonstrating the all-round influence that has made her one of the league’s standout performers.
Since making her England Roses debut against Trinidad and Tobago in 2015, Metcalf has gone on to earn 89 international caps, establishing herself as one of England’s most influential attacking players. She has represented her country on the biggest stages in world netball, competing at three Commonwealth Games and two Netball World Cups, while collecting an impressive medal haul that includes the historic 2018 Commonwealth Games gold medal, World Cup silver in 2023 and bronze in 2019.
Alongside her international success, Metcalf has enjoyed a remarkable domestic career across both England and Australia. Her spells with Yorkshire Jets, Wasps, Manchester Thunder and the NSW Swifts have yielded four Netball Super League titles and two Suncorp Super Netball championships, cementing her status as one of the sport’s most decorated players. After becoming a mother in 2025, Metcalf made an inspirational return to elite netball, helping Manchester Thunder lift the 2026 Netball Super League title before making the move to London Mavericks for the 2027 season.
Known for her vision, creativity and relentless work rate, Metcalf has built a reputation as one of the game’s premier playmakers. Her ability to control the attacking third, create opportunities for teammates and lead by example will provide invaluable experience to Tamsin Greenway’s squad as Mavericks continue to build towards the new campaign.
