Following an exciting 2026 campaign, London Mavericks have secured the return of five key players ahead of the 2027 Netball Super League season. Suzie Liverseidge, Ellie Rattu and Izzi Phillips will continue to strengthen the midcourt, while Emma Thacker returns to lead the shooting circle and Jamie Golob continues to anchor the defensive unit.
Combining experience, international pedigree and emerging talent, Tamsin Greenway has called back her squad as Mavericks look to build on the foundations laid last season and make a significant impact in the 2027 Netball Super League.
Ellie Rattu
After an injury-disrupted 2026 season, Ellie Rattu returns determined to make her mark in 2027. The England international was ruled out before the season after suffering a knee injury, but worked tirelessly through her rehabilitation to make a return towards the end of the campaign.
Rattu played an important role in Mavericks’ NXT Gen title-winning side before making her long-awaited NSL return in the club’s final home fixture against Cardiff Dragons. Now back to full fitness, her leadership, experience and relentless work rate will provide a huge boost to Tamsin Greenway’s side heading into the new season.
Suzie Liverseidge
Suzie Liverseidge returns for the 2027 season after an impressive campaign that showcased her consistency, versatility and impact across the court. The former Mavericks pathway player continued to demonstrate why she is such a valuable asset, contributing in both attacking and midcourt roles throughout the season.
In the 2026 season, Suzie was recognised for her performances with selection in the Team of the Round in Rounds 1 and 10, while also earning the Kissimmee Player of the Match award in Round 5 against Cardiff Dragons and the Shawbrook Fans’ Player of the Match award in the final fixture of the season against the same opposition. Her standout performance came in Round 1, where she recorded 41 successful feeds, seven tips and three intercepts, highlighting her ability to influence the game at both ends of the court.
Her performances were also recognised internationally, with Suzie selected for the 2026/27 Roses A programme, which is designed to support selected athletes in their progression towards the senior squad.
Bringing energy, creativity and versatility, Liverseidge will once again be a key part of Mavericks’ midcourt options as the team looks to build towards the 2027 season.
Izzi Phillips
Young talent Izzi Phillips returns for the 2027 season, continuing her development under Tamsin Greenway after two seasons with Mavericks. The versatile midcourter has continued to grow in confidence at NSL level, showcasing her ability to make an impact at both ends of the court.
During the 2026 season, Izzi produced a number of standout performances, including being named the Kissimmee Player of the Match in Round 10 against Leeds Rhinos. Her all-round ability was evident throughout the campaign, recording over 200 feeds and more than 20 deflections, highlighting her influence in both attack and defence.
Her continued progression was recognised with selection for the 2026–27 Vitality Roses programme, further cementing her status as one of England’s exciting emerging talents. Phillips will be looking to build on another impressive season as she continues to develop in the Mavericks midcourt.
Emma Thacker
Emma Thacker returns for the 2027 season after another influential campaign both on and off the court. Stepping into the captaincy role in 2026 following Ellie Rattu’s injury, Emma showcased her leadership qualities while continuing to prove herself as a key attacking threat in the shooting circle.
Despite being ruled out for the latter stages of the season after sustaining a shoulder injury in Round 9, Emma produced several standout moments throughout the campaign. She was named the Amex Super Shooter in Round 8 after a memorable long-range effort against Loughborough Lightning and recorded 11 Super Shots in the London derby at the Copper Box.
Away from matchdays, Emma continued to play a vital role in strengthening the Mavericks community, representing the club through multiple school visits, coaching sessions and grassroots initiatives.
A leader, performer and role model, Thacker will once again bring experience and quality to the Mavericks squad as the team looks to push forward in 2027.
Jamie Golob
Jamie Golob returns for the 2027 season after making a standout impact during her debut campaign with Mavericks. The South African defender arrived from the country’s top division and quickly established herself as a key figure in the defensive unit, bringing athleticism, composure and leadership to the side.
Jamie’s performances throughout 2026 were recognised across the club, as she was named Mavericks Fans’ Player of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year and Coaches’ Player of the Year. Her impressive season also saw her selected in the League’s Team of the Round in Round 9, where she produced a dominant display with nine gains, three intercepts and two tips.
On the international stage, Jamie represented South Africa at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, helping the Spar Proteas secure a fifth-place finish and taking on the captaincy role during parts of the tournament.
A commanding presence in defence, Golob will once again be a crucial part of Mavericks’ ambitions as the team looks to build towards the 2027 season.
