Mavericks marked their Brighton debut with a dramatic one-goal win over Birmingham Panthers. Despite trailing by eight early on, Emily Andrew’s Super Shots and Emma Thacker’s buzzer-beater kept them in touch. Panthers continued to edge ahead in the second half, but Andrew’s shooting and a key intercept from debutant Jemma Donoghue turned the tide. Mavericks took the lead late, and Andrew sealed the comeback with a clutch goal in the final seconds.
RO5 | Nottingham Forest vs London Mavericks | 56-67
Mavericks got off to their best start of the season, leading at both quarter-time and half-time. Emma Thacker’s five Super Shots helped build a strong 35–27 lead at the break. Forest closed the gap in the third, with Rolene Streutker firing in 30 goals and 10 Super Shots. But Mavericks finished strong, with Emily Andrew’s 41-goal display sealing an 11-goal win. The result put them five points clear of Forest and firmly in the play-off race.

Elmere van der Berg, second in the league for Super Shots, helped Thunder extend their lead to 31-24 by halftime. Mavericks came back strong in the second half, closing the gap to two with 15 minutes left. The final quarter turned into a tense, all-or-nothing battle. Thunder managed to pull ahead once more. Despite Mavericks’ fight for a bonus point, Thunder held on for the win.

Mavericks triumphed in a thrilling Round 8 showdown that pushed the league’s first extra time of the season. RO10 | Leeds Rhinos vs London Mavericks | 66-71
After a 59-59 tie at the full-time whistle, Mavericks battled through an extra 10 minutes in a game full of lead changes. They built a nine-goal lead in the third quarter, but Rhinos fought back for a tense finish. Emma Thacker’s sharp Super Shots and Emily Andrew’s 92% shooting accuracy helped Mavericks pull ahead. From the start, Lightning dominated, with Shadine van der Merwe causing major problems for Mavericks’ attack. Lightning steadily extended their lead, strengthening their challenge for the top spot just two points behind London Pulse. Mavericks struggled to find rhythm against the hosts’ pressure. Despite the defeat, Mavericks had plenty to celebrate as we secured a return to the Play-Offs for the first time since 2016.
