London Mavericks are delighted to announce the appointment of Hayley Mackellar as Assistant Coach. Hayley brings a huge amount of international coaching experience to the role.
Working alongside Director of Netball and Head Coach Tamsin Greenway, Hayley will help prepare the Super League squad for the demands of the season, supporting training, match preparation and individual player development.
Hayley returns to the Netball Super League following several seasons working across international netball, high-performance sport and athlete development. She spent five years with Netball Scotland, including four as Under-21 Head Coach, leading the team to the Netball World Youth Cup.
Most recently, she served as Sport Competition Manager for Netball at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, helping deliver the competition and adding major international event experience to her coaching background.
Having previously worked with Tamsin in Scotland, Hayley brings an established working relationship to the coaching team and a shared commitment to helping players fulfil their potential.
Alongside her Super League responsibilities, Hayley will support talented pathway players as they progress through the Mavericks system and prepare for senior netball. The club is proud that so many players developed through its pathway go on to compete in the Netball Super League, and her role will help strengthen the connection all the way from our Emerging Talent Programme to the first team.
Speaking about her appointment, Hayley said:
“I’m really excited to be joining London Mavericks and returning to the Netball Super League. After several seasons working across international netball, athlete development and major-event delivery, I’m looking forward to bringing that experience back into a Super League environment.
I’m particularly excited to be working with Tamsin again and to be part of a coaching team that is ambitious about developing players.
The strength of the Mavericks pathway is another huge attraction for me. I’m looking forward to supporting the Super League squad while also helping build that connection with the pathway, giving talented young players the best possible preparation for the next step.
I can’t wait to get started and be part of what Mavericks are building.”
Tamsin Greenway, Director of Netball and Head Coach, added:
“We’re delighted to welcome Hayley to our coaching team. Having worked with her in Scotland, I know the commitment, knowledge and energy she will bring to the squad.
“Hayley will be an important part of our Super League programme, working alongside me to deliver training, prepare for opposition and support players individually. Having that additional coaching input and perspective will help us challenge the group, pay attention to the details and keep improving throughout the season.
“We have clear ambitions for this team, and Hayley’s appointment strengthens the support around our players as we work towards them.
“She will also help us connect that work with the talent coming through our pathway. We’re proud of how many Mavericks pathway players go on to compete in the Super League, and we want to keep creating opportunities for the next generation to make that step.”
Everyone at London Mavericks looks forward to welcoming Hayley as preparations for the new season continue.
