The 2026 Mavericks squad is here, and it promises an exciting season ahead! Packed with experience, emerging talent, and fan favourites. We are pleased to announce this year’s team features one exciting new signings and a blend of three nationalities, bringing fresh energy and global flair to the court. From seasoned campaigners to dynamic young stars, the squad combines skill, athleticism, and leadership, setting the stage for another dramatic chapter in London Maverick’s netball.

New Signing

Jamie Van Wyk

Position: GD/WD | Height: 183cm | Age: 24

A versatile South African defender, Jamie Van Wyk plays GD and WD and was named Best Defender in South Africa’s Division 1 in 2025. She made her debut for the Gauteng Jaguars in 2019, later captaining the side, and was recognised that same year as the best Player at both the U19 and U21 national tournaments. She also represented the Spar Proteas junior squad for three consecutive seasons before stepping up to the senior team. Her consistent rise saw her make her Spar Proteas debut in 2021, establishing herself as one of South Africa’s most promising defensive talents.

Returning Stars

George Inger

Position: GS/GA | Height: 188cm | Age: 26

Starting at Turnford Netball Club, George Inger joined the Saracens Mavericks Pathway in 2016 and debuted in the NSL the same year. She won two league titles with Wasps (2017–2018) before returning to Mavericks in 2019 and later signing with New Zealand’s Southern Steel, where she recorded 92% shooting accuracy in 2022. A serious knee injury in 2023 sidelined her for two seasons, but she returned in 2025 with Mavericks’ NXTgen side and was called up for NSL Round 14 against Manchester Thunder. Internationally, Inger has 22 England caps, having first represented the Roses U17s at just 14!

Razia Quashie

Position: GK | Height: 182cm | Age: 28

A powerhouse in defence and a loyal servant to the club, Razia Quashie has amassed 118 appearances for the Mavericks, becoming a fan favourite and one of the most experienced players in the squad. In 2025, she earned three Player of the Match awards, three consecutive Super 7 Team of the Week selections, and recorded 25 intercepts and 44 deflections in just 12 games, while also being named the Mavericks 2025 Coaches’ Player of the Season. Quashie made her England debut in 2018 and has continued to represent the England Roses, recently being selected for the 2025/26 Vitality Roses squad.

Jemma Donoghue

Position: GD | Height: 183 cm | Age: 23

Beginning her first full season with the Mavericks after joining partway through last year from Australia, Jemma Donoghue has quickly made her mark in the NSL. In 2025, she earned two Super 7 Team of the Week selections and produced 26 gains and 20 deflections in just 12 appearances. Known for her fight, athleticism, and defensive instincts, Donoghue’s experience will be pivotal as she forms a formidable partnership with Razia Quashie and Jamie Van Wyk at the heart of the Mavericks’ defence.

Izzi Phillips

Position: WD/C/GD | Height: 179cm | Age: 19

The 2024 NSL Young Player of the Year, Izzi Phillips enters her second season with the Mavericks and third in the NSL, continuing to establish herself as one of the league’s most exciting young talents. A relentless workhorse in defence, she tallied 16 intercepts and 24 deflections in 15 appearances during the 2025 season. Selected for the Future Vitality Roses programme and the Netball World Youth Cup training squad, Phillips’ energy, athleticism, and hunger for the contest make her a key figure in the Mavericks’ defensive unit.

Ellie Rattu

Position: C/WD | Height: 177cm | Age: 24

A true leader on and off the court, Ellie Rattu captained the Mavericks to a top-four finish in 2025 – the club’s first in nine years – in just her third season with the side. Making her NSL debut in 2021, she has gone on to become a fan favourite, combining vision and grit to great effect. Last season she delivered 245 feeds and 25 deflections, showcasing her influence at both ends of the court. Selected for the 2025/26 Vitality Roses squad, Rattu made her England debut in 2022 and continues to set the standard with her determination, leadership, and composure under pressure.

Suzie Liverseidge

Position: WA/C | Height: 176cm | Age: 24

Back where it all started, Suzie Liverseidge returned to the Mavericks in 2025 for her second season with the club after progressing through its pathway. She made her NSL debut in 2021, going on to win two league titles (2021, 2023), and last year produced 272 centre pass receives and 441 feeds – the third-highest tally in the league – across 15 appearances. Liverseidge was also named Mavericks 2025 Fans’ Player of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season. Selected for the 2025/26 Future Vitality Roses programme, and a former England U17 and U19 representative.

 

Amelia Hall

Position: WA/GA/C | Height: 171cm | Age: 26

A versatile playmaker who can cover WA, GA, and C, Amelia Hall enters her second season with the Mavericks after making her NSL debut in 2021. Having featured in over 40 NSL games, she brings experience and adaptability to the court. In 2025, Hall delivered 68 feeds and an impressive 77% SuperShot shooting accuracy, demonstrating her ability to influence the game in multiple ways. Originally from the Manchester Thunder pathway, Hall’s skill, vision, and flexibility make her a key contributor to the Mavericks’ attacking structure and a player fans love to watch

Emma Thacker

Position: GA | Height: 189cm | Age: 21

Entering her third season with the Mavericks, Emma Thacker has quickly established herself as a key player since making her NSL debut in 2022. Already an NSL title winner, she has represented England for two consecutive seasons, including winning bronze at the 2023 Fast5 World Series. In 2025, Thacker scored 47 SuperShots. proving she’s a big-game player who can turn the tide on the scoreboard. Known for her composure, athleticism, and ability to perform under pressure, Thacker continues to be a decisive force for the Mavericks and a player fans can always rely on.
