London Mavericks is proud to announce the appointment of Shruti Saujani to its Board, further strengthening the club’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
A trailblazer in the world of sport, Shruti brings with her a wealth of experience and a relentless passion for empowering underrepresented communities. Her career has been defined by her mission to make sport a space where everyone, regardless of background, can belong, participate, and thrive.
At the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), Shruti led the award-winning “Dream Big Desi Women” initiative, recruiting over 2,000 South Asian women into volunteer roles to support grassroots cricket across the UK. Her strategic leadership played a key role in the ECB’s South Asian Action Plan, and she also worked on The Hundred competition, ensuring diverse fan experiences were at the forefront of its development.
Currently serving as Senior Lead for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion at The Football Association (FA) within FA Education, Shruti is focused on building a more representative coaching workforce, and embedding inclusive practices across the football landscape.
Outside of her professional roles, Shruti is a trustee for the Miss Kicks Foundation and has previously held trustee positions with Cricket Builds Hope and the Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket Foundation.
Shruti’s contributions have earned her widespread recognition. She was named a “Next Gen Leader” in sport in 2021, a “Rising Star for Diversity” in 2022, and one of the “50 Leading Lights” in 2020 for her kindness and leadership.
Shruti’s appointment marks a powerful milestone in our journey to embed inclusion at the heart of everything we do. From our talent pathways to matchday experiences, community initiatives to strategic partnerships, we are committed to building representative, welcoming spaces that empower every individual to feel seen, valued, and part of something bigger. Her expertise and passion will help us shape a club where diversity isn’t just embraced — it’s celebrated.

“I am incredibly proud to join the London Mavericks Board at such an exciting time for the club. Sport has the power to shape identity, build belonging, and break down barriers but only if everyone feels seen and supported. I’m looking forward to working alongside this inspiring team to champion equity, create inclusive spaces, and ensure that every person, on and off the pitch, feels they truly belong as part of the London Mavericks.”
