Hear more from London Mavericks’ Director of Netball Tamsin Greenway.

This week, we caught up with London Mavericks’  Director of Netball, Tamsin Greenway, to hear a little more about her new full-time role.

Greenway, who has been busy with recruitment activity during July, is enjoying planning for the new season and also for London Mavericks’ long-term future. Greenway explained:

“My role looks strategically across the board performance-wise, so while we’re obviously looking at the immediate future, part of my role is also to plan our long-term strategy. Developing a successful pathway will be central to that and it’s something I’m really passionate about. I’m also looking forward to getting fully involved in on-court performance and helping coach alongside a fantastic coaching team.

“My approach will be similar to the values we want to embrace as a club; to create a caring and professional environment where we work hard, are accountable and put athletes first, making sure we provide them with the tools they individually need to thrive.

“I love being creative, so we’ll also encourage curiosity, so people aren’t afraid to ask questions or think differently. That’s how I coach, just because one thing has worked before, or another club does it, doesn’t mean you have to do it the same way, sport is constantly evolving. Having that free rein is really important to me.”

Speaking about the style of play London Mavericks will be aiming for next season, Greenway added:

“I think in terms of the way we want to play, it will be a very exciting, open, win-ball, brave attitude in defense. That’s the way I like to play defense. From an attacking point of view, it will need to be different. I don’t envisage us just to be a one trick pony.”

Greenway is also looking forward to catching up with familiar faces at the Hertfordshire Sports Village after the club confirmed this week that London Mavericks will play at least three fixtures at HSV in the Netball Super League 2025, with additional arena venues to be announced in the coming months.

We’re really excited to be back at Herts Sports Village for some of our games this season. The atmosphere is incredible and we love playing there. It’s a home from home and I think it’s important for the fan base to have that stability as well.

“As we all know, one of the key elements of the tender process and delivering the bigger picture for the sport was about taking netball to bigger venues, to be able to engage more fans in the sport. We’re looking at playing some fixtures at Wembley again, which is incredible, and we also have a few other exciting things going on in the background, so it’s a case of watch this space at the minute and we’ll keep you posted!”
