A signing that Mavs fans will have been praying for, golden girl Ellie Rattu will be returning to London Mavericks for her second season under the tutelage of Camilla Buchanan. Ellie made her England debut in 2022 against Uganda and has since earned 10 caps for her home nation. Speaking on Rattu’s return, Greenway couldn’t contain her excitement:
“Ellie would always be a player that’s first on my team list. She’s the ultimate team player, and she’s absolutely talented. Ellie’s a winner. I’ve worked with Ellie in different capacities over the years, and she always brings the same thing to the team, like the culture piece is amazing. She’s a true leader, and she’s learning that craft as well.”
After a season disrupted by injury, Rattu is hungry to make her mark this year. Determined to showcase her full potential in the 2025 season, she’s ready to help the Mavericks become one of the most feared teams in the league.
“After struggling with some injuries last year, it felt like I hadn’t really made my mark yet, and I’m still wanting to do that, so it was nice to get an introduction to Mavericks and what it’s like to be a Mavericks player in the Super League. I’m excited to step forward with them in this new team and in this new era as well. It feels very exciting, and I can’t wait to get back with the group.”

“My favourite thing about match day would be the interaction with fans and family after the game. Just having that real special environment that we’ve built at Mavericks to spend time going in and meeting people that come to support and seeing the familiar faces in the crowd.”
