Bio
Chelsea Blackman’s netball journey began in South Australia, where she rose through the development ranks. She became a part of the Adelaide Thunderbirds program in 2018 and made four appearances across the 2019 and 2020 seasons. In 2020, Chelsea earned two SSN appearances as a temporary replacement player, which led to her being called up as a training partner with the Thunderbirds.
Chelsea has also played for Contax Netball Club in the Netball SA Premier League, where she contributed to the team’s remarkable achievement of reaching its sixth consecutive grand final.
London Mavericks are excited to welcome Chelsea to the setup and look forward to seeing the flair and experience she will bring to the team.

The former Adelaide Thunderbird Chelsea Blackman is expected to reinforce London Mavericks’ defensive line-up, while also bringing a distinct skillset to the team. Greenway explains:
“One of the key things I learned about the league last year was the need to have different players to make an impact. Raz and Vicki have their own style, but bringing in an Australian player like Chelsea, who has that relentless mentality, adds something different. She’s been in the Thunderbirds’ training environment and was with them when they won the title last year, training alongside top players like Shamera Sterling and Latanya Wilson. Chelsea knows how to grind down opponents in one-on-one situations and offers a unique, rangy presence, which was crucial for me. I wanted to ensure we have diverse options and structures.”
